Stand with Chaz Stevens

Artist, Activist, Advocate for Equality

Driving a Sherman in Patton’s 3rd Army, my Uncle Ray was the tip of the spear, fighting deep into the heart of Germany, returning home splattered with shrapnel wounds and severe PTSD.

Following in Ray’s footsteps, who fought actual Nazis, I now fight to protect my beloved country. As an artist and activist, I’ve dedicated my career to defending the First Amendment, advocating for LGBTQ+ equality, and holding our government accountable.

Like millions deeply concerned about the state of our democracy, I am relentlessly pursuing every possible avenue, fully committed to it’s protection, that despite fears of being targeted for political dissent. I have attempted legal action to remove Trump from Florida’s ballot (invalid due to a SCOTUS ruling), prompted an ongoing investigation by the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Violent Crimes Unit into Trump’s firearm possession and failure to register as a convicted felon, and challenged the legitimacy of Mar-A-Lago’s liquor license.

Throughout this journey, my dynamic and provocative public art has captured and documented these efforts.

I have a strong history of challenging abuses of power and exposing threats to our democracy. Now, I need your help to raise $125,000 for next year’s upcoming projects. Join me in this critical fight—your support can make a powerful impact as we continue to stand up for what's right.

Over the decades, my accomplishments and projects are too numerous to recount fully, so here’s a brief highlight:

Recent Projects:

  1. Sent 3,000 "In God We Trust" posters written in Arabic to Texas schools, challenging the state's requirement for displaying the motto in English, sparking debate on inclusivity and religious expression..

  2. Petitions were sent to public school superintendents across Florida, requesting the immediate removal of the Bible from classrooms, libraries, instructional materials, and any books that reference the Bible.

  3. Pabst Blue Ribbon Festivus pole project humorously protested the blending of church and state by erecting a 6-foot pole made of beer cans in Florida’s Capitol Rotunda during the holidays.

Upcoming Projects:

  1. A lawsuit has being filed against the Broward County School System for alleged religious and viewpoint discrimination under the Florida Religious Freedom Restoration Act (FRFRA) and Section 871.04. The Church of Satanology and Perpetual Soirée sought permission to display advertising banners at two schools but was denied without explanation. Meanwhile, Christian-affiliated banners were allowed at other schools, highlighting inconsistent treatment. The church argues that this constitutes religious discrimination and a violation of free speech under the First Amendment. The lawsuit seeks damages, legal fees, and injunctive relief.

  2. Satan Loves the First Amendment Event:  A proposed state-wide event celebrates free speech and dissent through activities like an “Unholy Free Speech Rally,” “Read Banned Books” marathon, and “The Infernal Debate Club.” Featuring rebellious music and debates on First Amendment issues, the event playfully champions civil liberties.  Rental space has been requested at Monarch High School, Coconut Creek, FL.  We are attempting to secure space in Lake, Lee, and Duval counties.

  3. Bar Complaints: We’ve filed bar complaints against US Representative Matt Gaetz with the Florida Bar and judge complaints with Florida’s Judicial Qualifications Commission and the US 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. While we don’t expect much, we believe in speaking up, as we did successfully against Jenna Ellis. Silence, to us, equals consent.

Oh, and there’s the multitude of complaints we’ve filed against Justices Clarence Thomas (three in total) and Samuel Alito.
